Position SummaryThe Senior Process Engineer is responsible for process design, operation, and optimization of ZLD systems integrated into Oil & Gas wastewater management networks. This includes ensuring optimal recovery of reusable water, reduction of waste streams, and adherence to process safety and environmental standards.Key Responsibilities- Design and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for ZLD systems in refinery or upstream operations.- Perform mass and energy balances for evaporation, crystallization, and RO systems treating high-TDS or hydrocarbon-laden wastewater.- Monitor and analyze ZLD performance metrics to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, water recovery, and energy utilization.- Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend corrective process adjustments or system modifications.- Support the commissioning, performance testing, and handover of new or upgraded ZLD systems.- Develop and maintain SOPs, design documents, and plant operating manuals.- Collaborate with E&I and mechanical teams for control strategy improvements and process integration.- Evaluate new technologies for brine minimization and water reuse in oilfield and refinery operations.- Provide technical mentorship and training to junior engineers and operations staff.Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.- 7–12 years of relevant experience in process engineering of ZLD, ETP, or produced water treatment systems within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or refinery sector.- Deep knowledge of process design and optimization for high-salinity and hydrocarbon-contaminated wastewater.- Familiarity with key unit operations: MEE, MVR, RO, crystallizers, and pre-treatment systems.- Proficiency in process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or equivalent).- Strong understanding of process safety, control systems, and energy management principles.- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
