Brief description / introduction:

The position for a SCCM Infrastructure Engineer is based within the Software and Device Management – End User Compute team (EUC) part of the John Lewis Partnership account. The team is responsible for the strategy, design and development of End User Computing for Partnership Head Office, Distribution and Branch sites. We are looking for a SCCM Engineer to join the team to support in with:

- Setting up and maintaining SCCM infrastructure

- OSD experience

- Packaging and Software Distribution

- Driver configuration

- Custom reporting

- Security updates deployment

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Work with the ‘Software & Device Management Team’ within EUC to administer, support and develop our SCCM Current Branch and SCCM 2012 environments at a “Technical Lead Level”. This will include SCCM Server Infrastructure support and implementation, application packaging, maintenance of OSD task sequences, Windows patching and maintenance of all end user and end point environments and project work to deliver new capabilities to branches.

Essential experience and technical / business skills:

Technical Skills:

➢ Implementing, administering and supporting SCCM Current Branch and SCCM 2012 across multiple remote sites

➢ Experienced with OSD both developing and maintaining existing Task Sequences

➢ Driver and hardware integration

➢ SQL and WMI reporting

➢ Experienced in application packaging using Raynet applications

➢ Active Directory account administration and Group Policy configuration


Business Skills:

➢ Ability to translate business requirements into project requirements

➢ Ability to communicate/translate technology to non-technical customers/users

➢ Ability to work with subject matter experts to complement your own knowledge

➢ Experience of working with third parties/suppliers


Personal Skills:

➢ Excellent relationship-building, communication and interpersonal skills

➢ Ability to effectively organise your own work

➢ Ability to meet challenging deadlines, delivering to time and quality in an agile environment

➢ Ability to establish and maintain the trust of colleagues and users


Desirable experience and technical / business skills:

➢ Experience of working in the Retail sector

➢ Knowledge of Workspace One (Products / Profiles and app deployment)

➢ Scripting experience (Powershell, VBScript, Batch Files)
