Position summary: The SIEM Administrator is responsible for the design, deployment, management, and optimization of the SIEM platform to enhance an organization's security posture. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents while working closely with SOC analysts, engineers, and IT teams to improve security event detection and response capabilities. Hands-on experience with Splunk is mandatory, along with expertise in QRadar and other security tools. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Deploy, implement, and configure security solutions, ensuring optimal performance. Optimize security infrastructure to enhance system efficiency and reliability. Provide expert consulting on security practices and implementation strategies. Identify and mitigate security risks through proactive monitoring and analysis. Manage and maintain Splunk and QRadar environments for log management and security monitoring. Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure seamless integration of security tools. Troubleshoot SIEM issues, optimize log collection, and improve system efficiency. Provide log retention, audit reports, and compliance documentation as required. Train junior analysts on SIEM functionalities, query building, and threat detection techniques. Document configurations, policies, and troubleshooting procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications: Mandatory expertise in Splunk (deployment, configuration, and optimization). Hands-on experience with QRadar & other SIEM tools like DNIF, Securonix, Sentinel or FortiSIEM etc. Knowledge of network security , firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and cloud security logs (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong knowledge of SIEM architecture, log sources, and event correlation. Proficiency in log management, regular expressions, and network security concepts. Familiarity with threat intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and incident response procedures. Knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration. Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) is a plus. Experience with SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) tools is a plus. Strong troubleshooting skills Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced SOC environment and handle multiple tasks. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to mentor and train junior team members. Education & Certifications: B.E. or B. Tech degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred). Industry certifications such as: SIEM-related certifications (e.g., Splunk Certified Admin, IBM QRadar Certified Specialist, other SIEM Certified Analyst). Security certifications (e.g., CEH, CompTIA Security+).
