Job Overview

The Maintenance Manager (Refrigerated Containers) / Depot Manager oversees the maintenance and repair operations of refrigerated containers across multiple depots. This role requires technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to optimize resources while ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Oversight and Maintenance
    • Manage maintenance and repair operations of refrigerated containers at multiple depot locations.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with industry standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
  • Team Leadership and Management
    • Lead technicians and maintenance staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
    • Coordinate technician schedules for preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency within the maintenance team.
  • Revenue Generation and Business Development
    • Identify revenue opportunities through spare parts sales, tool utilization, and service contracts.
    • Develop and negotiate Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and service agreements, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote maintenance services and expand the customer base.
  • Container Inventory Management
    • Manage container inventory, including inward and outward movements.
    • Ensure all containers are in ready-to-dispatch condition, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and functionality.
    • Implement tracking systems to monitor container status, availability, and maintenance history.
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key customers, addressing inquiries and ensuring high service satisfaction.
    • Monitor customer feedback, implement improvements, and exceed service expectations.
    • Build strong, long-term relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Operational Excellence and Compliance
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and financial transactions using ERP systems.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
    • Implement cost-effective measures to enhance operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs without compromising quality.
Qualifications & Experience

B.Tech. or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in container maintenance and repair are preferred. 7+ years of proven experience managing maintenance operations for refrigerated containers or similar equipment, ideally in a depot or logistics environment. Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Proven ability to manage and develop a technical team. Strong analytical and decision-making skills to resolve operational challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours as required.
