Job Description- Design Engineer (Electrical and Automation)

Job Mission

Taking a lead role in Electrical and automation System design and development throughout the product development life cycle to meet performance, reliability, quality and cost objectives of the program in PSD (Parts and Services Division)

Job description

  • This position is primary responsible for technical feasibility for localization projects for Electrical system component but not limited to technical approvals, testing and validation.
  • Responsible for Electrical system and Components design for aftermarket solutions for Epiroc product range
  • Selection of electrical components like relays, circuit breaker, switches, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, transformers, motors, starters, wiring and cables, gauges etc
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth troubleshooting to identify and address any electrical system related issues by deploying scientific methodologies in collaboration with technical service team
  • Involve in VAVE projects for optimizing performance, reliability and cost targets through systematic reviews with concerned CFT and Global Team.
  • Perform design calculations like voltage drop, power losses, electrical power and torque requirements, capacity of electrical actuator. Prepare electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Hands on PLC program and troubleshooting and Human machine interface.
  • Maintain software repository for products running in field.
  • Ensure Proper Technical File Maintain & Upgrade Time to time for assigned products related to Electrical Component selection and Product electrical System Calculation.
  • Contribute significantly to the development of new products, providing technical expertise in electrical systems.
  • Prepare & own Test & verification of electrical Component and Full Product according to CE Documentation Checklist.

Experience requirements.

  • 7 and above years of experience with Mining Machinery/ Earth moving equipment /drilling Equipment/off road vehicles System design and development.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of mining equipment related to electrical systems/components is an added advantage

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of electrical engineering basics.
  • Drawings detailing and knowledge of design standards.
  • Preparation & release of BOM and Engineering change management.
  • Should have a very good capability to analyse customer requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.
  • Knowledge on vehicle electrical systems and Rig Control System (RCS)
  • Hands on Exp in Creo, ACAD Electrical module and Knowledge Pro-Piping/Pro Cabling
  • Knowledge in PLM – Teamcenter/other and PDM –M3/Other will be an added advantage
  • Is eager to stay expert in his/her domain of technology.
  • Knowledge and working experience of electrical components design like motors / relays / circuit breaker/transformer/ / rectifier / actuator
  • Electrical system wiring and schematics design.

Educational requirements

  • M.E / M. Tech / B.E. / B. Tech degree in Electrical / Automation Engineering from reputed institutions
