Role Overview
We are looking for a Merchandiser
who can bridge
design, sourcing, and sales strategy
to ensure Hello December's collections are always
trend-aligned, commercially viable, and operationally smooth
. The role requires a mix of
product knowledge, vendor management, inventory planning, and storytelling
, ensuring that both private-label and curated products are brought to market in a way that excites customers and drives revenue.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product & Collection Development
• Work with designers and stylists to curate seasonal collections
aligned with global trends and Hello December's brand ethos.
• Translate moodboards and styling direction into
assorted product line-ups
.
• Assist in
pricing strategy
by balancing design value, customer psychology, and margin targets.
2. Vendor Management & Sourcing
• Identify and onboard reliable vendors
across furniture, lighting, décor, furnishing, and accessories.
• Negotiate
costs, timelines, and minimum order quantities
with suppliers.
• Ensure product samples and final production meet
quality, finish, and brand standards
.
3. Inventory & Demand Planning
• Manage product lifecycle
from design to delivery.
• Monitor
stock levels, sales performance, and re-order needs
.
• Work with operations to ensure
smooth flow of products
from vendor to warehouse to customer.
4. Sales & Marketing Alignment
• Collaborate with marketing to highlight hero products and seasonal stories
.
• Share insights on
best-sellers, slow movers, and market feedback
to inform future collections.
• Support sales and styling teams with
product knowledge, stories, and positioning
.
Core Skills Required
• Background in merchandising, product development, or fashion/home retail buying
.
• Strong understanding of
materials, finishes, and production processes
.
• Good eye for
design trends and consumer psychology
.
• Ability to work across
Excel/Sheets, inventory tools, and dashboards
.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing
multiple categories at once
.
Ideal Candidate
• 2–5 years' experience in homeware, interiors, lifestyle, or fashion merchandising
.
• Someone who thrives at the intersection of

.
