We are seeking a motivated and news-savvy producer/senior producer to oversee our news writing/ packaging and content editing needs in a fast-paced work environment. You will work with a team of producers, video editors, and graphics designers to produce compelling and accurate content for the news team of Times Now Digital Videos. Your primary duties will include following a content strategy, ideating, coming up with news angles, proofreading and collaborating with the team to deliver quality news scripts on time.


To excel in this role, you are expected to have experience in working in a fast paced news environment, a good know-how of news as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. A Bachelor's degree in Journalism or English or a related field is a must.

Responsibilities:

1. Identifying the most interesting news angle that will help achieve viewership on the news story

2. Communicate within the company with news producers, Video Editors and Graphics Designers

3. Conduct extensive research and interviews to ensure content is accurate and up-to-date

4. Proofread text and edit text at various stages of the writing process

5. Understand and consistently reflect the editorial policy of the organisation in writing style

6. Keep abreast of developing news stories, especially those trending on social media


Qualifications

Minimum 3-4 years of experience, good understanding of news

excellent written and verbal communication skills in the (English language)

Thorough knowledge of media production and communication

Ability to remain detailed-oriented and focused when processing large volumes of text

Willingness to collaborate with a creative team of writers, video editors, graphic designers, and others

Strong computer processing skills

Basic knowledge of legal issues involved in publishing, such as libel and plagiarism

Mastery of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors and ability to make constructive suggestions
