The role of Lead Planning Engineer for a Government Construction Project is a key role that is responsible for leading and coordinating the planning and scheduling activities for a specific government construction project. The Lead Planning Engineer will work closely with the project team to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the project master schedule, including resource loading and leveling, progress tracking, and critical path analysis.
Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules for all phases of the project, from design to construction and close-out.
Coordinate with the project team to develop project work breakdown structures and activity lists.
Develop and implement project planning and scheduling procedures and processes.
Analyze project performance and provide regular progress reports to the project team, including the government officials and other stakeholders.
Provide guidance and direction to the planning team and other project staff.
Identify and manage project risks, including schedule and resource constraints.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure that construction work is carried out in compliance with the approved plans and specifications.
Collaborate with the project team and other stakeholders to resolve scheduling conflicts and issues.
Ensure compliance with all relevant project management standards, including quality control and assurance measures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with at least 5 years of experience in managing large government construction projects.
Strong technical skills in project planning and scheduling, including experience in using project management software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
