Engineering Team Lead

We seek a skilled Engineering Team Lead to oversee Karma’s entire technology team. The candidate will lead the development and maintenance of our tech stack, including telemedicine platforms, mobile apps, and backend systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a passion for technology, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
As an Engineering Team Lead, you will coordinate closely with the product team, review code in detail, and make strategic decisions from a technology perspective to drive future-ready innovations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and Maintain: Oversee the development and maintenance of efficient, clean, and scalable code for Karma’s healthcare platforms, guiding the engineering team in best practices.
• Platform Enhancements: Lead the implementation of new features and optimize existing ones, ensuring improved performance and usability across the platform.
• API Development: Direct the development and management of robust RESTful APIs, coordinating with various systems and platforms to ensure seamless integration.
• Database Management: Oversee the design and optimization of database schemas and queries, with a focus on scalability and performance, with assistance from our Database Architect.
• Collaboration: Facilitate close collaboration with the product team and developers, reviewing requirements and ensuring functional solutions are delivered.
• Debugging & Troubleshooting: Oversee the identification and resolution of bugs or performance issues, providing guidance and support to the engineering team.
• Documentation: Ensure clear documentation is maintained for code and technical processes, promoting knowledge sharing and transparency within the team.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in React.js, JavaScript, and experience with CodeIgniter. Strong knowledge of MySQL, familiar with HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and AWS services. Understanding of Git and version control systems.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in React.js and JavaScript, with experience in CodeIgniter.

• Expertise in MySQL and hands-on experience with AWS services.

Position Description:
• Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and efficient applications using a full-stack approach.
• Drive technical decision-making and provide hands-on guidance in front-end (e.g., React) and back-end development.
• Ensure the security and data privacy of servers, databases, and systems, adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards like ISO27001.
• Manage cloud infrastructure with AWS, focusing on robust security measures and cost optimization strategies.
• Promote and maintain best practices in development, security, and performance across all projects.
