Job Overview: As a Lead - Process & Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of robotic systems used in the manufacturing process of passenger rolling stock. Your expertise in mechanical engineering and programming will be crucial in managing and optimizing robotic systems, troubleshooting issues, and developing preventive maintenance strategies. This role will play a pivotal part in maintaining high production standards and maximizing uptime.

Profile: Lead – Carbody Process & Industrial Engineer

Department: Methods & Industrial Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Leading NPD/NPI and Co-engineering work related to carbody manufacturing process.
  • Leading the concept design review and product design with engineering.
  • Performing Design Analysis of fixtures for manual as well as robotic welding of Metros and semi high-speed train’s carbody, outfitting fixtures, carbody lifting tackles.
  • Engaging in technical meeting with welding robot experts for setup and simulation.
  • Creation of SOP (Work Instruction) based on the design review.
  • To create and validate MBOM, Routings, Gantt Chart/Task sequencing.
  • PFMEA creation and risk analysis across the manufacturing sequence.
  • Line balancing and conducting VSM to balance throughput against the customer demand (Method Time Study) and to create a lean flow, reduce waste and improve productivity.
  • Developing RFQ documents basis technical compliance for procurement process.
  • Also working in Project management for setup of plant for metro production and work-flow setup.
  • Analysing weld map and welding sequencing, tolerance study (sheet metal parts).
  • Performing design activity including proposals, design development, reviews of proposals.
  • Responsible for review related to assigned projects and to ensure expectations are identified and met Involving in design changes/modifications (CCB- Change Management).
  • Study the product design and implementation of Design activities.
  • Trial & Implementation to prevent defects & rejection.
  • Establishing work plan for each project phase and assignment of project personal.
  • Support in fixture prove out and establishing 1st prototype car at carbody fabrication shop.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8-12 years of experience in methods & industrial engineering, preferably in the carbody side of passenger rolling stock or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of welding process, EN15085 standard, resistance spot welding.
  • Experience in Design Analysis of fixtures for robotic welding of carbody, carbody lifting tackles.
  • Sound knowledge of Chemical Passivation process.
  • Proficiency in Arc welding and resistance spot welding.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and methodologies for robotic systems, including condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues 8D, QRQC.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to robotic systems and automation.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Know how and CAD software proficiency preferably CREO and Catia.
