Principal Engineering Lead

in

Cape Town

to join our client’s offices within the iGaming industry. Our client leverages technology to drive success. The focus is on understanding business strategy, aligning with business partners, and executing the right projects to maximize value, whether through revenue generation or improving internal operational efficiencies. The goal is to create exceptional products using cutting-edge technology, surprising and delighting customers while envisioning the future. By focusing on target architecture, simplifying, loosely coupling, and stabilizing systems, they minimize costly downtime and enhance customer experience.

As the

Principal Engineering Lead

in

Cape Town

will review current practices within the engineering teams, understand business needs, and align teams to enable rapid delivery with minimal cross-team dependencies. Maintaining a strong partnership between Architecture and Engineering is crucial to consistently realizing target architecture across all teams. Embracing the goals of an elastic enterprise, the focus will be on enhancing team autonomy.

Your key job responsibilities as the

Principal Engineering Lead

in

Cape Town

will include:

Co-develop the Technical Strategy with the Head of Technology and drive successful execution within the engineering teams.

Establish incremental steps to progress towards the desired architectural state, allowing for temporary concessions to maintain momentum.

Collaborate with the Project Management Office to ensure timely delivery of technology-driven projects.

Act as an ambassador for our client’s culture, leading engineering teams respectfully, fostering a positive and innovative work environment.

Define a roadmap that aligns with both Business and Technical goals.

Transform our client into an elastic computing environment, working closely with the Head of IT to achieve this securely and cost-effectively.

Identify, compare, select, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs.

Oversee the design, development, and coding of new and current business systems.

Enforce technology standards and practices, focusing on SDLC, Architectural, and Information Security goals.

Align technology platforms with Business Service teams and strategies.

Optimize the use of technology products by embracing Group Tech Radar and Tech Adoption processes for opportunities of re-use or collaboration.

Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics, creating a performance culture aligned with DORA metrics.

Manage all system design and architectural changes.

Stay updated on new trends and best practices in the technology landscape.

7-10 years of experience in technical roles.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple teams.

Knowledge of current technology trends and their strategic applications.

A solutions-oriented mindset, capable of transforming challenges into opportunities.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to large groups.

Proven expertise in managing stakeholders and fostering collaborative relationships.

Excellent stress management abilities, maintaining consistent and positive performance under pressure.

Experience in workforce planning and implementing employee retention strategies.
