Job Overview


We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable individual to join our team as the Vice President of Indirect Taxes. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of indirect tax compliance and advisory services. The successful candidate will have a senior-level position and will be based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range. As the Vice President, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's indirect tax strategy and providing leadership to the team.


Qualifications and Skills


  • CA/CS/CMA/LLM
  • Senior-level experience (7-10 years) in indirect tax consulting or a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in tax software and MS Office applications
  • Professional certifications such as CA or CPA are preferred


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement the company's indirect tax strategy
  • Manage a team of tax professionals and provide guidance on complex tax issues
  • Develop and implement SOPs, Checklists
  • Update clients about the relevant legal amendments and judicial pronouncements
  • Review and enhance tax compliance processes and ensure they are in line with relevant laws and regulations
  • MIS reports and overseeing administrative aspects like billing, recovery, performance evaluation etc.
  • Provide expert advice on indirect tax matters to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and assist clients in optimizing their tax position
  • Handle indirect tax audits, disputes, and litigation cases
  • Stay updated on the latest changes in indirect tax laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper accounting and reporting of indirect taxes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders
  • Participate in business development activities and contribute to the growth of the organization
