Skills Required :

  • PeopleCode : Proficiency in PeopleCode, the proprietary programming language used in PeopleSoft, for customizing and extending PeopleSoft applications.
  • Application Engine : Experience in designing, developing, and troubleshooting Application Engine programs for batch processing and complex business logic implementation.
  • Application Package : Expertise in developing and maintaining Application Packages, which encapsulate related PeopleCode programs, SQL statements, and other components for better code modularity and reusability.
  • PS Fluid/Dashboard Development : Hands-on experience in developing PeopleSoft Fluid pages and dashboards for enhanced user experience and accessibility across various devices.
  • SQR (Structured Query Report) : Strong experience in SQR programming for developing complex reports and data extracts within the PeopleSoft environment.
  • PeopleSoft HCM Knowledge : Understanding of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) modules, including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Time and Labor, and Talent Management.
  • PeopleTools : Advanced knowledge of PeopleTools, the underlying technology stack for PeopleSoft applications, including PeopleSoft Application Designer, PeopleCode Debugger, and Application Engine Debugger.
  • PeopleSoft Application Designer : Proficiency in PeopleSoft Application Designer for designing and customizing PeopleSoft application pages, components, records, and fields.
  • PeopleCode : Advanced understanding of PeopleCode, including event-driven programming, component interfaces, and integration with external systems.

Responsibilities :

  • Customization and Development: Design, develop, and implement customizations and enhancements to PeopleSoft HCM applications using PeopleCode, Application Engine, and Application Package.
  • PS Fluid/Dashboard Development: Develop responsive and intuitive Fluid pages and dashboards to improve user experience and accessibility for PeopleSoft HCM users.
  • Report Development: Develop, modify, and troubleshoot SQR reports to meet business reporting requirements within the PeopleSoft HCM environment.
  • Integration: Integrate PeopleSoft HCM with other systems and applications using integration technologies such as Application Engine, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker, and Web Services.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as applying patches, updates, and fixes to PeopleSoft HCM applications. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Documentation: Create technical design documents, code documentation, and test plans as part of the development process. Maintain documentation of customizations and configurations.
  • Testing and Deployment: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for customizations and enhancements. Assist in deployment activities and post-deployment support.
  • Performance Tuning: Identify performance bottlenecks in PeopleSoft HCM applications and implement performance tuning measures using tools and techniques available within PeopleTools.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and technical staff on PeopleSoft HCM customizations, configurations, and best practices.
  • Stay Updated: Stay abreast of new features, updates, and best practices in PeopleSoft HCM and PeopleTools. Continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge through training and self-learning.
