JOB SUMMARY:

Polaris Industries, Inc. is looking for an Application Architect to work in an exciting, very fast-paced environment. As an architect on the Polaris team, you would be supporting our enterprise software teams working across multiple digital teams. You'll lead efforts in modernizing existing systems, building new platform solutions, developing the architectural roadmap for our digital platform, along with programming enterprise solutions that will be used by various digital teams.

The Application Architect will have a broad knowledge of cloud-native architectures, experience with reference architectures, understanding of modern development practices, along with development experience in C#. This position is responsible for ensuring solutions are aligned to the business and technology strategy, leveraging enterprise components, and the overall advancement of Polaris technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide architecture direction aligned to our business strategy for all components of our digital ecosystem, and adherence to established enterprise architecture principles, standards, and patterns.

Develop applications in an object-oriented environment using application development technologies including web services (Web API, Lambda, Message Queuing Service), C#, .Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, jQuery, MVC.

Support, maintain, and administer deployed solutions.

Proactively monitoring and preventing technical debt (e.g. software obsolescence; security vulnerabilities)

Provide technical leadership to the application development team by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.

Collaborate with other architects to define and maintain blueprints for an enterprise architecture strategy ensuring integration across global applications.

Leverage technology standards and roadmaps to ensure IT solutions are best aligned to business and IT strategic goals.

Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, highly available, fault tolerant, and reliable applications.

Responsible for application performance KPIs.

Partner with Solution Architects to design solutions that require cross-team collaboration.

Researching, identifying, recommending, and documenting applications, data, platforms and infrastructure for solving and supporting new systems

Participate in development of technology roadmaps based on requirements of current and future business needs.

Attend and participate in agile team product development meeting.

Observe and recommend areas for process improvement.

Work with users and staff to resolve business problems.

Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

Maintain relationships with key technology vendors in partnership with technology delivery team leads to understand and influence vendor capabilities, key trends, and product direction.

Plan and design information structure and architecture by studying the site concept, strategy and envisioning architectural scheme, information structure, features, functionality, and user interface.

Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting along with establishing connectivity with network systems and cloud-based environments as needed.

Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Support web application developers by providing technical advice and guidance in various technical solutions.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years of progressive technical experience with increasing levels of complexity and responsibility in the Microsoft tech stack

5+ years Application/Solution Architecture experience with broad systems architecture design, planning and implementation including experience with cloud solutions and enterprise services

Must have strong back-end development skills.

Caching provider experience. Prefer Redis

B2C customer facing web development experience.

Significant experience with C# in an MVC environment

Must be able to clearly illustrate application designs to team members.

Have development experience using different types of languages and be able to articulate the pros and cons of each.

Relational Databases developing against SQL Server.

Self-motivated and ability to manage multiple priorities at one time

Deep experience in software design and development, focus in Agile software development

Experience with hybrid (cloud/on premises) integration architecture patterns is highly desirable

Broad knowledge and experience with AWS

Ability to work in a deadline-driven, demanding environment

Ability to work as part of a highly cohesive and collaborative team distributed globally.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skill

Front-end SPA frameworks

Experience with any content management system. EPiServer/Optimizely 10 or higher is preferred.

Ecommerce experience

Nice to Have:

Data streaming experience (e.g. kafka/Confluent)

NoSQL Database Providers
