Paediatric Occupational Therapist - Kalarava Child Development Centre

Location: Kalarava Centre for Child Development, 2nd Floor, City Point Building, NavaBharat Circle, Kodialbail, Mangalore, KarnatakaType: Full-time

Kalarava Child Development Centre is seeking a skilled and dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide essential Occupational Therapy services, helping children overcome developmental, sensory, and functional challenges to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

About the Role:As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will:

Conduct comprehensive health assessments to evaluate each child’s developmental and functional abilities.Develop and implement individualised treatment plans that enhance fine motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive abilities, and social-emotional regulation.Utilise a range of OT interventions, including sensory integration, rehabilitation services, play-based therapy, and skill-building exercises.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care and monitor progress.Educate and support parents and caregivers with strategies to promote their child’s functional mobility and daily living skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver therapy focused on skills development in areas such as self-care, play, and social interaction.Provide support to children with developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorders, and other related conditions.Document progress and modify treatment as necessary to meet therapy goals.Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimise therapy outcomes and ensure comprehensive care.

Required Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) – 4 years, 6 months courseMaster of Occupational Therapy (MOT) – 2 to 3 years post BOTCertification: Active registration with AIOTA (All India Occupational Therapists Association).

Skills & Attributes:

Expertise in sensory integration, assistive technology, and play therapy.Knowledge of fine motor development, disability support, visual perception, and cognitive processing.Excellent communication skills for working with children and their families.Strong teamwork skills to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Experience:Experience with children who have Autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, or sensory challenges.Demonstrated ability to create and adjust individualised OT treatment plans.Proficiency in working within rehabilitation services for paediatric patients.
