A leading D2C Company in Home Decor Space is hiring for the role of Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - IoT.


Role Overview:  We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for IoT to ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of our cutting-edge IoT products and solutions. The SDET will develop detailed test plans, cases, and scenarios tailored for IoT applications, and create robust test automation frameworks. This role involves a blend of manual and automated testing to assess various product stages, conducting comprehensive functional, regression, performance, and security tests.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for IoT products and solutions.
  • Design and implement test automation frameworks and scripts for IoT device testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing of IoT devices, gateways, sensors, and cloud-based applications.
  • Perform functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and security testing of IoT systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to identify and resolve issues related to device compatibility, connectivity, and interoperability.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint planning meetings to provide input on testability and quality aspects of IoT features.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in IoT testing and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on IoT testing.
  • Solid understanding of IoT architecture, protocols, standards, and technologies (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with IoT platforms, cloud services (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT), and device management solutions.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in IoT, software testing, or related fields are desirable.
