Project OverviewGHS works extensively on
nutrition related issues , supporting partner organizations and governments towards an environment for greater investment, commitment for positive nutrition behaviors, and scale up of proven interventions to address malnutrition and its severe health consequences. Among the many issues, Iron-deficiency anaemia (IDA) poses a major threat to the health and socio-economic wellbeing of our community, particularly women and children. The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) 5, 2019-21, highlights that 57% of women of reproductive age (WRA) and 67% of children (6-59 months) suffer from anaemia.
GHS is working closely with government stakeholders and partner organizations toward generating awareness and urgency around anaemia, specifically around maternal anaemia, and around proven interventions such as intravenous iron (IV-I). The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) recently released a guidance note encouraging the use of IV-I, which was found to facilitate rapid and long-term benefits in patients. In collaboration with Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), GHS aims to facilitate evidence-based discussions around anaemia and scientific interventions, and build understanding among key stakeholders.
Roles and responsibilitiesGHS seeks candidates with a relevant advanced university degree (e.g., Journalism, Business Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, Public Administration, Development Economics or other relevant qualifications) and at least six years of experience for the position of Senior Manager/Manager who will work closely with the senior project leadership. The ideal candidate should have experience in communications and project management. We look for people that are passionate about global health issues, entrepreneurial, innovative and strategic thinkers with excellent communications and analytical skills. Potential candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills . Managers are expected to support the project’s activities by:
Guiding each project’s strategy development in line with the overall goals and objectives.Overseeing all assigned projects’ deliverables, plans, timelines and managing projects’ monetary and human resources.Finalizing project plans and budget projections.Providing advice and strategic counsel to donors/clients/ partners and other external stakeholders when needed.Identifying and building relationships with new stakeholders as well as maintaining existing external relationships.Ensuring material developed by project teams is high-quality and client ready.Supervising and mentoring reporting managers, senior associates, associates and consultants.Supporting senior project leadership in their interactions with the client and in the overall management of assigned projects.Overseeing and developing proposals when required.Preparing staffing plans and participating in organizational development activities.Participating in staff performance management processes.Undertaking additional organizational responsibilities as required.Effectively representing GHS where required.
Reporting and SupervisionThe Senior Manager/Manager will report to and work closely with the project lead and support project teams to ensure the successful completion of project deliverables.
This role will require the candidate to be working full-time out of the GHS Delhi office . Candidates should be open to domestic travel as and when required.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum 6-8 years of experience in project management within the public health sector.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience in developing and managing budgets and timelines.Familiarity with public health issues, particularly anemia and maternal health .
