As a Big Data Platform Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you are a key member of a multi-functional team responsible for building and managing Micron’s infrastructure for extracting new insights from our expanding data streams. You will collaborate with various roles and teams across the enterprise to provision and manage Cloud infrastructure and services to extract data and insights from Micron’s manufacturing, R&D and engineering systems.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Platform Administrator should ensure the integrity and availability of the technology platform responsible for powering Data Warehouse programs across the company. By working collaboratively with developers, analysts, engineers, and scientists, the Cloud Platform Administrator creates and calibrates right set of processes to help meet established KPIs and SLAs for availability, performance, and security. Work fluently with relational databases, cloud services, monitoring tools, and virtual machines, coupled with a pragmatic and organized approach to managing large systems used by thousands. Experience of at least 3+ years as snowflake, Google Big query administration. Able to automate tasks using python or shell script. Good knowledge on Tableau or Power BI. Develop practical solutions for content management, governance of ETL solutions so they meet the established standards. Partner with the developers and analyst to fine tune the solutions for high performance Create monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure established KPIs and SLAs are met/exceeded. Create and manage approval loops and coordinate production code releases. Manage server and application upgrades, patches, and releases. Maintain appropriate process and design documentation for current infrastructure, policies, and procedures. User Setup/Audit/Removal, including database role and permission management. Conduct regular proactive reviews of the environment, provide regular reports on availability, usage, and growth Maintain related knowledge throughout an effort’s lifecycle and ensure timely sharing of that knowledge to peers and support areas. Provide escalated incident and administrative support, as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 6 years’ experience with Cloud Data Platform administration Experience with Snowflake, Google Big Query administration is a plus. Minimum 6 years’ experience with scripting languages like python, shell script. Minimum 6 years’ experience as a system admin, network admin or database admin Proficiency with development tools (Git/SVN, Artifactory, Maven, Jenkins) Proficiency with relational database Admin experience with any ETL technologies Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) Ability to analyze problems, identify and implement solutions Ability for minimal, international travel
