Type: Full Time

About the Role

Stack Digital is seeking a talented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our multi-functional SRE team. As an SRE, you will act as a subject matter expert on operation automation and monitoring, identifying TOIL within the team's existing systems and processes, and recommending and implementing automated solutions to reduce TOIL and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.Essential Skills & Experience (Must-Have)

  • Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Hands-on experience in defining and creating Cloud Usage Journeys (CUJ), Service Level Objectives (SLO), Service Level Indicators (SLI), and Error Budgeting based on Non-Functional Requirements (NFR)
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, GitHub, and Docker Images
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, and Ansible
  • Good understanding of container orchestration using Kubernetes
  • Experience in designing and implementing automated workflows
  • Proven track record of reducing TOIL in an SDLC or IT operations environment
  • Familiarity with Source Control Management (SCM) tools like Git, GitHub, and SonarQube
  • Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes
  • Proactive and analytical mindset

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of build and release tools such as Maven, Ant, Gradle, Puppet, Jenkins, TeamCity, and uDeploy
  • Understanding of microservices architecture
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Java or C#
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Understanding of the architecture and implementation of three-tier web applications

  • Cloud Platform Expertise: 3 (Must-Have)
  • Strong Knowledge of IaC: 2 (Nice-to-Have)
  • Proficiency in Core SRE Principles: 3 (Must-Have)
  • Experience in Reducing TOIL: 2 (Nice-to-Have)
  • Comprehensive CI/CD Proficiency: 2 (Nice-to-Have)
  • Container Orchestration: 2 (Nice-to-Have)
  • Monitoring and Observability: 4 (Must-Have)
  • Scripting Languages: 3 (Must-Have)
  • Collaboration and Communication: 3 (Nice-to-Have)
  • Continuous Learning and Adaptability: 2 (Must-Have)
