Job Description
Please Note:
  • Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of the clients Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD
  • Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.

Position Description:
  • Advise on defining, standardizing, & implementing accessibility activities across the enterprise and within the Customer Experience (CX) Team and in a way that is compatible with the agencys approach to product management.
  • Using industry best practices and benchmarking with private sector entities, provide strategic consulting on conducting customer research related to accessibility, and identifying and applying accessibility insights and recommendations from customer research/discovery sessions to guide service design.
  • Provide guidance developing research plans, such as inclusion of accessibility-specific questions in surveys and interviews.
  • Provide accessibility strategic support in our CX programs human centered design (HCD) activities with our different stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal team working sessions and executive level meetings to gather feedback, present findings and propose solutions.
  • Provide strategic advisory and mentoring/Coaching to internal staff in accessibility utilizing current industry best practices, case studies, lessons learned, and open-source tools to build our employee skills so they can become mature and do this work on their own.
  • Review and provide input on prepared government documents and presentations for accessibility feedback and comments.

Requirements Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and 12 Years of relevant work experience OR Masters degree and 10 Years of relevant work experience as an Accessibility Consultant or a minimum of 18 years related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills allowing for individual to identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and respond to complex problems while supporting users accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Other Certification (optional but preferred): DHS Trusted Tester.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience supporting accessibility standards, including Section 508, WCAG 2.0/2.1, and ARIA guidelines
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience conducting accessibility assessments, audits, and user testing, with a deep understanding of common assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience implementing and utilizing various accessibility tools including but not limited to JAWS, ANDI, NVDA, and ZoomText
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting accessibility efforts for a federal government agency or similar organization
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to support multiple projects at the same time, each with their own unique set of requirements and needs.
  • Ability to be flexible and react appropriately to changing job assignments, work environments, and work locations.
  • Consistently demonstrates a positive, supportive, and constructive attitude with both internal and external customers as well as peers.
  • Ability to write technical documentation and plain language documentation dependent on audience.
  • Self-motivated, task-driven, and able to quickly learn new skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of navigating and adapting to unique constraints (i.e. policy, infrastructure)

Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of UX and user research methodologies
  • Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology

  • Support and troubleshooting of mobile devices (Android, iOS)

Requirements
Basic Qualifications 7+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field. 4+ Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field. Required Skills Extensive Design and Programming skills in Java and JEE technologies. Extensive hands-on experience with one or more frameworks such as AngularJS, jQuery, ReactJS, and Express/Node.js Experience working on Agile projects and strong knowledge of Agile terminology and tools including VersionOne. Experience in developing the applications using Single-Page Architecture. Experience in coding “responsive" web pages with an understanding of the cross-browser limitations and browser compliance standards. Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications onto AWS with PostgreSQL. Deep Knowledge of PaaS offerings such as Red Hat OpenShift and Docker. Experience with modern software development tools for Continuous Integration including Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, Nexus, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, and UrbanCode Deploy. Experience with Web Services Technologies (XML, JAXP, JAXB, JAX-WS, AXIS, JERSEY, JSON, CXF, REST and SOAP) and Security (LTPA, JWT, OAUTH2). Hands-on Design and development experience on Microservices and Restful API. Experience with Automated unit test (i.e. JUnit, Mocking frameworks), Test Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-driven development (BDD) (Cucumber). Experience with JEE technologies including Struts, Spring Framework (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, and Batch), Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, JPA, Hibernate, SOAP/RESTful, XML, DB2, Tomcat, WebSphere. Knowledge of security vulnerabilities in web applications and addressing them. Strong communication and documentation skills. Desired Skills Experience with the implementation of Section 508 standards for Web Applications. Exposure to writing Technical White Papers and systems design documents. Prior experience with federal or state governments IT projects. Experience with low code platforms like ServiceNow, Pega, MS Power Platform etc
