We are looking for an Associate/Senior Associate to join our new team in India
Novo Holdings Asia is looking for an ambitious and proactive Associate/Senior Associate to take part in the identification, negotiation, and due diligence processes of investment opportunities within the healthcare and life science industry. In this role, you will be part of the Asia investment team in making value-creating investments in healthcare and life science companies.
Our Asian investment platform was established in 2020, with offices in Singapore in 2021 and Shanghai in 2022. We are establishing our India office in 2024 to expand our Asian footprint. The Job
You will be working out of the India office, in close collaboration with colleagues regionally. As an Associate/Senior Associate, you will help ensure that the investment team is well-informed and well-prepared for making investment decisions and build a strong network across the region. The Associate/Senior Associate will play a critical role in supporting the investment and portfolio management activities. The successful candidate will be involved in analysing potential investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and assisting in the management and monitoring of portfolio companies.
Your tasks will include:
- Support deal origination and execution by performing financial due diligence, modelling business cases, valuation analysis as well as analysing the market and the related positioning of a potential opportunities.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management, investment committee and board meetings.
- Support the management of the investment portfolio by monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, and preparation of regular reports on portfolio performance.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies for value creation, operational improvements, and growth in portfolio companies.
- Manage projects by taking part in scoping and managing the content and timing of relevant due diligence work streams (e.g. commercial, financial, legal etc) related to investment projects and portfolio companies.
- Continuously expand industry expertise through e.g. desktop research, external meetings, expert calls, external advisors, and conferences
- Leverage the knowledge and capabilities of the broader Novo Holdings team and collaborate with other departments and colleagues in other locations on investment projects in overlapping industries.
- Work closely with other team members to execute deals and manage projects.
Further to this, you will collaborate with other departments and teams located in Copenhagen, Singapore, Shanghai, San Francisco, Boston, and London on investment projects.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A bachelor’s degree or beyond from a top-tier institution.
- At least 2 years’ relevant working experience at a top investment bank, private equity or investment firm, with a strong interest in life sciences and healthcare investments.
- Familiar with the due diligence process on investment projects. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
- Proficiency in the use of databases and information service. High level of proficiency in MS Office, in particular PowerPoint and Excel models/analyses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- High level of initiative and ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Previous Industry and investment expertise within healthcare IT, pharma services, MedTech, and biotech is a plus.
