We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Development Lead with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe tools and utilities. This role involves leading a team of developers, managing mainframe projects, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet our business requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership and Team Management :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mainframe developers.

- Provide technical guidance and support to the team.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

Project Management :

 - Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mainframe development projects.

- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements.

- Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.

- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion.

Technical Expertise :

- Design, develop, test, and deploy mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.

- Ensure code quality, performance, and security standards are met.

- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to developers.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Collaboration and Communication :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA testers, and operations teams.

- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.

- Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures.

Continuous Improvement:

- Stay updated with the latest mainframe technologies and industry trends.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

- Promote the adoption of agile methodologies and DevOps practices within the team.

Required Qualifications :

Experience :

- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in mainframe development.

- Proven experience leading and managing development teams.

- Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe tools.

- Experience with mainframe modernization and migration projects is a plus.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in mainframe development environments and tools.

- Strong understanding of database design and management with DB2.

- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.

Soft Skills :

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with mainframe security and compliance standards.

- Knowledge of other programming languages and platforms.

- Certification in mainframe technologies or project management (e.g., PMP).

Educational Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Master's degree is a plus.
