Description

As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing the Qualys global network infrastructure. The Network Engineer will be responsible for working on new and existing network-related operations and projects with key business groups and teams to perform key improvements over the longer term.Primary Responsibilities:* Operates and administers network management and security monitoring systems along with voice products and network application systems* Identification and resolution of hardware, software, or architectural issues in any of the corporate networks supporting all Qualys sites and employees.* Analyzing systems errors or anomalies, as well as specific network performance issues and/or error messages, to ensure maximum uptime and service quality* Troubleshooting, in conjunction with Operations, Engineering, and QA teams, Web, API, and other system issues at a per-packet level via packet trace and sniffer analysis.* Prepares and conducts technical briefings, training sessions, policy development, in-depth technical studies, and development of plans and specifications* Knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN systems to design and install IP networks.* Designs and implements network solutions. Provides technical support to internal staff* Handles technical issues and incidents through hands-on troubleshooting* Liaise with customers, vendors, and other personnel for problem resolution* Performs other duties as assignedExperience/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:* 3-5 years of work experience in the design, implementation, and support of Cisco CallManager/Unified Communications and related voice applications.* Experience with VMWare Linux and integrating multiple voice platforms/architectures.* Experience implementing technical standards, policies, procedures, and documentation.* Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with tech and non-tech team users.* Ability to manage and troubleshoot emerging IP-based VoIP and Conferencing* Knowledge of network systems – switching, routing, 802.1x, RADIUS and TACACS* Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and wireless LAN controllers* Knowledge about Change management and Change ownership* Create and maintain network documentation, including technical drawings and Network inventoryExperience:Nice to Have:Experience with multi-site routing, peering, and disaster recovery network architectures is considered a plusFormal hardware training and/or certifications from one or more of the following vendors: Cisco Systems (CCNA, CCNP), Juniper Networks (JNCIA, JNCIS)Previous experience managing SaaS, e-commerce websites, and/or on-demand servicesSoft Skills & Non-Technical QualitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and stay motivatedGood interpersonal skillsGood time management skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritizeStrong Problem-Solving Abilities
