Job Description:Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (CIR), GITAM Deemed to be University is inviting applicationsfrom eligible candidates for Research Associate, in the DAE-BRNS-RRF scheme with Prof. B.V.R. Tata, as Raja Ramanna Fellowship(RRF) on the research proposal entitled “Fabrication of Photonic crystals through colloidal route and numerical simulations of photonic band structure and plasmonic nanostructures for sensing applications”Essential:a) Ph.D. in Physics/Chemistry (Synthesis and self-assembly of colloidal nanoparticles, Photonic Band Gap (PBG) calculations, Light scattering and related topics only)b) Knowledge in Photonic crystals (PCs), Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), UV visible spectroscopy and synthesis of colloidal nanoparticlesc) Experience in calculating PBG calculations using software such as MIT Photonic Bands, COMSOL Multiphysics, analysis of UV-Visible spectroscopy data and Raman scattering data, fabrication of Photonic crystals through self-assembly route.Desirable:a) Experience/Knowledge in handling laser-based instruments (e.G. Raman Spectrometer, Confocal microscope, Dynamic Light Scattering technique) and synthesis of colloidal nanoparticlesb) Numerical Simulations of light propagation through periodic dielectric/plasmonic structures by Finite Element MethodJob Requirement: (i) Numerical simulations of Photonic Crystals/Photonic Band Gap Structure; (ii) Synthesis, Characterization and Fabrication of photonic crystals, and investigation of fabricated structures for sensing applications using light based techniques.Tenure of the post: Position is purely temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactoryperformance for a maximum of one and half year.How to Apply: Interested and qualified candidates with good academic records are requested tosend their applications along with detailed Curriculum Vitae by e-mail with subject " Application forthe post for RA at CIR, GITAM" by e-mail to: on or before 15/04/2024.
