Backend Development Engineer

Position Type: Contract
Location: Gurgaon (in-office)
Experience Level: 5 years+
Education: Minimum a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical or relevant engineering domains.

Job Description:

As a Full Stack Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in a collaborative environment, partnering with front end and product management teams to develop our backend and also work with web-app and progressive mobile apps. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Utilize advanced data structures and algorithms to optimize backend processes and performance.
2. Implement database schemas, queries, and optimizations for MySQL and PostgreSQL. Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java Spring Boot or Node.js.
3. Collaborate with the team to design and develop Rest APIs.
4. Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability through rigorous testing and optimization techniques.
5. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a focus on performance and scalability.
6. Develop Rest APIs with concise business logic to meet functional requirements.
7. Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of backend systems.
8. Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly.
9. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in backend development.
10. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer with a focus on Java Spring Boot or Node.js.
  • Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Very good hands-on experience with multiple database technologies, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Proficiency in writing clean, concise, and maintainable code.
  • Experience with both compiled and interpreted languages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice to have:

1. Knowledge of other backend technologies such as Python Django or Ruby on Rails.
2. Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
3. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
4. Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization technologies.
