Purpose

  • This position has a global role in architecting, delivering, and supporting the Network Data domain.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations, including ongoing maintenance and support for the Network Data area.

Functional/Technical Skillset

  • 10–12 years of hands-on experience in network support and architecture design.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Data Center products (Nexus 9000, Nexus 5000, Nexus 2000).
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP), routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and redundancy protocols (HSRP, VRRP).
  • Expertise in Cisco routing and switching technologies, including Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, XR, and NX-OS.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting Nexus-based networks.
  • Knowledge of various data center architectures (DC-DR, Active-Active DC, etc.).
  • SD-WAN experience preferred; familiarity with Silver Peak products is an added advantage.
  • Excellent understanding of LAN/WAN principles and configurations: switching, routing, network security, IPsec, VPN, DMVPN, DHCP, logging, SNMP, RADIUS, VLAN (802.1Q).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
  • Hands on experience in automation tools like Ansibel, python etc is desirable.
  • Experience in Load Balancer.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a 24/7 support environment.
  • Strong experience in network security, with proven analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of managing both perimeter and internal networks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; capable of collaborating with global counterparts.
  • Ability to evaluate new solutions from a network perspective and recommend suitable options aligned with Timken's global network standards.

Scope Of Work / Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver technical upgrades across all network devices.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for administrative procedures.
  • Review and analyze potential threats; recommend and implement remediation actions.
  • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor daily support tickets and ensure resolution within agreed SLAs.
