Buying Mgr

Job Responsibilities :

End-to-end supply management of respectivecategory Materials within parameters of targeted cost, quality and time, andsupport vertical head

Execute tacticalsourcing for particular category

- Manage closealignment between Procurement Lead and Project buying teams for optimalsourcing execution in line with category strategies

- Guide buyers toexecute as per short-term/ long-term Procurement Strategy for tactical sourcingunder his/her control including: Supplier / Pricing / Contractual Relationships/ Terms and Conditions / Lead Time

- Direct and reviewthe following activities for the delegated category of materials/ services:

a. Supplier identification

b. Supplier qualification assessment and short-listing

c. Release of Request for Quotation/ Enquiry

d. Receipt of offers from suppliers

e. Preparation of comprehensive comparative statements

- Assist in thedevelopment of sourcing and negotiation strategies for key spend areas andimplement negotiation strategies for major buys

- Specify and checkfinal commitments with suppliers according to approval thresholds

- Enforce inputs ofFC&A and Legal teams are obtained

Assess set-up ofAgreements with the finalized suppliers

Conduct Annual ProcurementPlanning & Budgeting for assigned tactical sourcing categories for theproject

- Facilitate buyersto plan on the basis of the business requirements, and consolidate them toprepare necessary information

 - Set targetsfor each buyer

- Check spend vs.budget on a regular basis to capture variations

- Develop andimplement actions plans to bring spend under control

 - Propose costsavings programs along with the P&C Planning & Strategy

- Achieve total lowercost ownership

Manage and develop peoplewithin the market segment group

 - Identify andreview necessary capabilities needed within the market segment

 - Understandcurrent capabilities within the group and define improvement requirements

- Align improvementrequirements with individuals and define and agree training and careerdevelopment plan

- Set goals, reviewand manage performance, guide and counsel and provide feedback to them

- Ensure high levelof employee engagement and satisfaction and retention of key personnel

Education Requirement :

B.Tech / BE. Certification in Procurement would be an added advantage

Experience Requirement :

15 to 18 Years of experience in a similar set up or industry

- Analytical bend ofmind

- Good written andoral communication skills

- Knowledge ofequipment and process/maintenance activities

- Commercial acumen
