Job Description:
The Deputy Manager of Accounts and Finance plays a crucial role in assisting the Head with overseeing the financial operations of an export-related activities organization. This position requires a blend of financial expertise, managerial skills, and an understanding of regulations related to exports from India. The primary responsibilities include:
Financial Management, Analysis and Reporting:
Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and financial reporting.
Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Analyzing financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
Preparing financial statements, budget forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making.
Collaborating with other departments to optimize financial processes and achieve organizational goals.
Maintaining an over-seeing role regarding the Company's investments in market securities.
Export Operations:
Managing aspects of export transactions related to documentation, customs clearance, and logistics coordination.
Ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and export control laws.
Developing and maintaining relationships with freight forwarders.
Monitoring exchange rates, and geopolitical developments to anticipate risks and opportunities in export markets.
Team Leadership:
Supervising a team of accountants, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
Fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment to achieve departmental objectives.
Promoting continuous learning and development among team members to enhance skills and capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience of 10+yrs in accounting and finance roles, with a focus on export operations.
Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and export compliance requirements.
Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage team members.
Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a must and without this the person need not apply.
Ideal Company experience:
A company in the business of exporting products with a turnover in the region of 50-100 crores
A company that deals in products that are manufactured by external vendors
A company which deals in textile made-ups
A company where hands-on working was encouraged and Seniors had a willingness to not be limited by roles
