Manager- Packaging Procurement

Job Purpose:
To oversee the procurement of packaging materials for the company, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers, as well as implementing cost-saving measures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and source reliable suppliers for primary packaging materials (laminates, pouches, LDPE/HDPE bags, CFC, bottles, jars, labels, etc.).- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to optimize pricing and delivery times.- Ensure timely procurement of packaging materials to meet production requirements.- Supply Chain Optimization:Implement strategies to streamline the packaging supply chain and reduce costs.- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance to identify areas for improvement.- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth material flow.- Quality Assurance:Ensure that all packaging materials meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.- Conduct quality inspections and tests to verify product quality.- Work with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.- Cost Management:Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.- Monitor market trends and explore alternative suppliers to optimize costs.- Regulatory Compliance:Stay updated on packaging regulations and industry standards.- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.- Innovation and Improvement:Research and implement innovative packaging solutions to improve product presentation and reduce costs.- Drive continuous improvement in packaging processes and procedures.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and industry standards- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management- Excellent negotiation and communication skills- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively- A results-oriented approach and a focus on continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field- MBA or PGDM from a reputed institute.- Minimum 5 years of experience in Packaging Procurement.- Certification in packaging engineering or supply chain management
