Responsibilities :
  • Legal Representation: Serve as the legal representative for the real estate company in various transactions, including property acquisitions, sales, leases, and negotiations.
  • Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on properties, including title searches, zoning analysis, environmental assessments, and other relevant investigations to identify potential legal issues or liabilities.
  • Litigation Management: Manage legal disputes and litigation related to real estate matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, property damage claims, breach of contract cases, and other legal proceedings.
  • Legal Advice: Provide legal advice and guidance to the real estate company's management team on a wide range of issues, including property rights, land use regulations, tax implications, and risk management strategies.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws, regulations, and industry standards, including fair housing laws, disclosure requirements, and anti-discrimination policies.
  • Client Representation: Represent the interests of the real estate company's clients in legal matters, advocating for their rights and interests in negotiations, disputes, and other legal proceedings.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess legal risks associated with real estate transactions and develop strategies to mitigate risks and protect the interests of the real estate company and its clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments within the real estate company, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to provide legal support and guidance on various business initiatives and projects.


Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree: Must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Litigation Experience: Proven experience managing real estate-related litigation, including court appearances, motion practice, discovery, and settlement negotiations.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively represent the interests of the real estate company and its clients in negotiations with counterparties, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify legal issues, evaluate risks, and develop creative solutions to complex legal problems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to review and draft legal documents accurately and efficiently.
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
