Project Description

The project involves end-to-end API development, testing, and monitoring, with a strong focus on troubleshooting across UAT, Production, and DR environments for both third-party and internal APIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage third-party, internal, and UI APIs using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower.
  • Perform daily monitoring of APIC and DataPower across UAT, Production, and DR.
  • Configure and manage API Connect components:
  • Analytics
  • Management
  • Developer Portal
  • Gateway
  • Implement robust API security protocols including OAuth, JWT, and certificate-based authentication.
  • Manage SSL certificate renewal for Production and UAT.
  • Create and configure new catalogs, organizations, and gateways.
  • Implement encryption–decryption logic and authorization mechanisms for banking APIs.
  • Design and enforce global policies across servers and catalogs.
  • Configure and manage Gateway Services and Multi-Protocol Gateway (MPGW) on DataPower.
  • Develop and apply custom API policies, logic flows, and data transformations.
  • Manage API Connect subscriptions and traffic control mechanisms (e.g., rate limiting).
  • Ensure secure and efficient data flow between frontend and backend systems.
  • Address and resolve VAPT and STQC compliance issues.
  • Support client demos, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Handle virtual DataPower setup, upgrade, and configuration.
  • Configure Web Application Firewall (WAF) and manage external bank certificates.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower.
  • Deep understanding of API lifecycle management and security practices.
  • Expertise in Gateway configuration, MPGW, and WAF.
  • Solid knowledge of SSL, OAuth, JWT, and other API security standards.
  • Experience with banking API integrations, encryption standards, and regulatory compliance.
