Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Lead one or more product deliveries across various technology verticals within JLR’s DPP department.
Provide vision and direction to the Agile development teams and stakeholders throughout the product development life cycle.
Continually and consistently articulate and update “product vision” driving development across Agile teams. Ensures “continuous customer value” in product evolution.
Ensures all the stakeholders including the Agile delivery teams focus on a “Big Picture” view.
Collaborate with other Product Group Leaders, Product Leaders in managing and refining product backlog to drive value in accordance with business priorities.
Active participant within the Agile teams, participating in design reviews, development and software validation of the team deliverables.
Develop and promote Agile way of working across teams – staying available and approachable, creating continuous feedback loops, drive constant learning and continuous improvements
Clearly communicating priorities, objectives/goals, mission and acceptance criteria to the Agile Delivery Team
Ensuring the Agile Delivery Team members understand items in the Product Backlog to the level needed
Recruit, build and grow JLR India into a world class Agile organisation
Formulate and execute “Learning & Development” curriculum – including induction, graduates program, employee trainings / skill development programs with a specialization Programming, Software architecture, Agile transformation etc.,
Skills and performance management of the product delivery teams
Foster a culture of innovation across Software projects. Drive teams in filing patents, invention disclosures, publishing technical papers
Keeping abreast with emerging new technologies to advance our technologies to support current and forward model vehicle programs
Ensure right support from senior management to enable smooth functioning of Agile delivery teams
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
12+ years of experience managing distributed, cross cultural workforce in Automotive industry (
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) from reputed college / university
Experience in Agile way of working.
Must have deep understanding of product development in technology domain in IVI and Cockpit
Experience in planning and delivering platform software for IVI and Cockpit
Strong experience on SW OS platforms (atleast one) - Android, QNX, Linux
Knowledge of IVI and Cockpit software architecture and design
Good understanding CI/CD processes for continuous integration and delivery
Should have experience in integration and deliver of BSP/platform components for complex automotive products like IVI/Cockpit
Must have practical knowledge of Agile methodologies – SCRUM, KANBAN, SAFe etc.,
Experienced in the management, application, use of JIRA, AIMS, eFDVS, FMA quality processes, DFMEA, engineering release processes, checkpoint / gateway reporting.
Experienced in reporting project / programme status at senior forums
Experience in management of a team of Managers / Technical Specialist Engineers delivering projects over a number of complex product commodities / systems
A proven record for recognising and developing talent within the organisation to help foster staff development and company loyalty
Team player, able to work effectively over multiple departmental / COC barriers to deliver effective business solutions
Experience in managing deliveries of multiple suppliers
Proven ability to work on own initiative, prioritize workload demands personally and for wider team
Must be flexible, able to apply skills/experience to a number of different tasks and able to work from different locations where required
Possess a high level of attention to detail/accuracy of work
Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively via e-mail/telephone etc.
Discrete and able to deal with sensitive/confidential information
Able to use influencing skills/persuasion etc. to 'get the job done on time / quality' removing roadblocks.
Must have the ability to “think on his/her toes” to get things done in a “start-up like” environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to innovate and make strategic decisions.
Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels.
Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
