Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified professional—preferably a Biomedical Engineer—to work in our Footcare (Podiatry) Department. The role involves conducting foot and gait assessments, assisting in the design and prescription of orthotic footwear, managing diabetic foot care devices, and supporting clinical procedures related to foot health. Training and certification in podiatric tools and procedures will be provided if needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct 3D foot scans, podia scans, gait analysis, monofilament tests, and vascular studies using podiatric equipment.
- Assist in evaluating patients with diabetic foot, plantar fasciitis, deformities, heel pain, and other foot-related conditions.
- Analyze foot pressure and gait data to recommend custom insoles or orthotic footwear.
- Support the medical team in prevention and management of diabetic foot ulcers.
- Operate and maintain podiatry-related medical devices (biothesiometer, thermal analysis units, etc.).
- Educate patients on proper foot care, hygiene, and footwear usage.
- Maintain proper documentation and patient reports.
- Participate in hospital's foot screening camps, awareness programs, and patient follow-up services.
- Liaise with vendors for fabrication of custom orthotic products and ensure proper fitment for patients.
- Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in podiatry and orthotic design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering
- Prior experience or interest in podiatry, gait analysis, diabetic care, or orthotic technology is preferred
- Basic knowledge of foot anatomy and common pathologies
- Willingness to undergo podiatric training
