Job Title: Senior File Services Engineer Location: Bangalore - RMZ Galleria, Bangalore - Safina Towers, Gurgaon - Dlf Cyber Greens Role Background As an organisation, we have recognised the importance of our unstructured file estate. With limited expertise and resource in this area, we have decided to recruit a dedicated team to manage the AtkinsRéalis IT Services File Service. This new team will report into the Global IT Infrastructure area. It will be a team dedicated to architecting, designing, and implementing the Global File Services for the AtkinsRéalis organisation. This team will not be operational although will be expected to define platforms, technologies, and process to be documented and handed over. Operational tasks will be automated where possible or performed by our existing operational staff.  The team will also function as an escalation path and specialist pool of expertise to be called upon by other parts of IT. Purpose of the Role: The Senior File Services Engineer position is a design and implementation role, dedicated to the delivery of File Services into AtkinsRéalis. File Services are defined as the storage, structure, management and presentation of unstructured data and the ability to share this data with external clients.  The objectives of the role holder will be to: Feed into the definition, design and standard covering File Services within AtkinsRéalis, including but not limited to: folder/directory structure, security, archive, stale data, presentation and retention. Create end user documentation relating to File Services best practices. Explore enhancement opportunities in parallel with the company direction and strategy. Align File Services to meet the Security zero trust policy. Research opportunities within Azure / Cloud based storage technologies. Identify automation opportunities to replace manual file access requests performed by operational staff. Utilise and own the Varonis platform. Perform further research to understand if Varonis is the best platform to use to meet the future requirements of the organisation and explore other products such as NetApp Cloud Data Sense. Proactively review our legal and security data obligations, liaising with the office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Compliance areas. Act as the last line of defence for File Services incidents. Root cause analysis and providing an escalation path for operational support teams. Technical Experience Required (Essential) : Existing expertise with the delivery of unstructured File Services. Experience of Azure / other cloud providers. Permissions (share level, NTFS) and security groups in a multi domain Active Directory environment. External file collaboration / data transport tools e.g. Liquid Files / SFTP. Previous experience with File Services consolidation projects. Microsoft DFS – design, deployment and troubleshooting. File replication technologies. Microsoft Windows File Services. Varonis. Technical Experience Required (Desirable) : NetApp filers. Scripting with PowerShell. Automating administration-based tasks. Knowledge of monitoring & reporting based systems, ideally SCOM. Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting. Behavioural Competencies: Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements. Ability to create technical documentation / designs, and to be able to communicate these across multiple teams and disciplines in an effective manner. Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written). Understanding of ITIL disciplines in a global IT services organisation. Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams. Demonstrable ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services. Ability to plan, prioritise and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player. Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies.
