Vispala Technologies is an assistive technologies company, focused on delivering affordable high-quality prosthetic and orthotic products and services. Our rapid growth has identified a need for a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team.


The successful candidate will be a highly creative individual with the ability to develop lasting solutions to our clients' problems. The top candidate will have the ability to communicate their technical ideas in a clear manner, both visually and verbally.


The position is located at our headquarters in Kolkata, India.

 

Responsibilities


  • Ideate and assist in New Product development, including systems, subsystems, and components, from prototype to production.
  • Design CAD models for precision plastic and metal products
  • Draft detailed drawings of parts for various manufacturing processes
  • Work with suppliers to ensure designs are optimized for high-volume manufacturing while meeting all performance targets.
  • Review manufacturing drawings and assembly drawings to ensure proper end item builds adhere to applicable industry and business standards
  • Create, Organize and Maintain existing engineering records


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideal in medical device development
  • Experience in the development of Mechanical System Architecture, New Product Development, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply concepts to new problems not listed in engineering textbooks
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques.
  • Proven ability in detailed precision part design for a variety of materials (plastic, metal, etc.)
  • Possess 3D CAD software skills (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
  • Hands-on product assembly and testing experience.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, autonomous startup atmosphere
