Job Summary:

The Application Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through rigorous testing processes. This role involves developing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

- Test Planning and Design:- Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.- Design automated test scripts and manual test cases for various types of testing (e.g., functional, regression, performance, security).- Test Execution:- Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the software meets quality standards.- Identify, document, and track defects using a defect management tool.- Perform root cause analysis of identified defects and work with developers to resolve issues.- Test Automation:- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.- Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.- Ensure automated test coverage for critical application components.- Collaboration and Communication:- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback.- Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.- Communicate test progress, results, and issues to the QA Manager and project team.- Documentation and Reporting:- Maintain detailed and accurate test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports.- Generate test reports and metrics to provide insights into test coverage and quality trends.- Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).- Proven experience as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or similar role in software testing.- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, QTP).- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
