Role & Responsibilities

As part of the IEEE Finance & Administration, Internal Audit Department, the Junior Analyst will contribute to the execution of an annual risk-based audit plan. This includes performing operational, financial, and compliance audits of Conferences, Geographic Units, and other IEEE activities and functions. The role requires working under the guidance of the Internal Audit Manager and supporting audit processes, including conflict-of-interest reporting and operational audits.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the planning, scheduling, and coordination of audits while adhering to established methodologies and standards.
  • Assisting in the execution of audits, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, and completing assigned work within agreed timeframes.
  • Learning and applying industry best practices for internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Collaborating with team members to articulate audit issues and associated risks to management in a clear and respectful manner.
  • Drafting well-supported audit findings for inclusion in reports to senior management.
  • Maintaining high standards of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct in alignment with generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Assisting in analyzing annual risk assessment results to prioritize audit activities.
  • Preparing updates for the audit committee and management dashboards.
  • Acting as a liaison between various levels of management and the audit team to discuss findings and remediation solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of auditing or related experience, preferably in a risk-based audit environment.
  • Knowledge of industry policies, procedures, regulations, and relevant laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools and techniques to support audits.
  • Willingness to learn and apply technical and regulatory knowledge.
