Cyber Security Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and identify potential security breaches.- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.- Develop, implement, and manage security policies and procedures.- Investigate security incidents and coordinate responses.- Perform regular security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate security into software and system development processes.- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices.
Must-Have Tools & Technologies:
- SIEM Tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight)- Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) (e.g., CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, SentinelOne)- Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet)- Network Security Tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap, Nessus)- Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS/IPS) (e.g., Snort, Suricata)- Vulnerability Management Tools (e.g., Qualys, Tenable, Nexpose)- Encryption Software (e.g., Symantec, McAfee, BitLocker)- Threat Intelligence Platforms (e.g., ThreatConnect, Anomali)- Cloud Security Tools (e.g., Prisma Cloud, Microsoft Defender for Cloud)- Identity and Access Management (IAM) (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, Ping Identity)- Linux/Windows Operating Systems (Knowledge of security on both platforms)- Scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate tasks and monitor security events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.- Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and security systems.- Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent) are a plus.- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud security and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.- Knowledge of security automation and orchestration platforms.- Experience with security for DevOps (DevSecOps) environments.
