Java Technical Lead

Job Purpose:The Technical Leader leads a team of Software Engineers, Software S and QA Engineers. He/she is responsible for and coordinates the development and maintenance of critical business applications for the fund and banking industry in an agile environment, with a focus on investment account management / tax functionalities. The position includes functional and technical coordination with other areas such as Product Management, Support and Operations. The operational and consistent implementation of corporate and divisional goals, as well as the continuous development and promotion of employees in their own team are the main tasks of the Team Lead Product Development. This role requires an agile mindset and serves as a role model for a modern corporate and management culture.Main tasks of the position:Disciplinary and technical management of the teamSupporting the assigned employees in accomplishing their tasksCoaching and supporting employees in personal and methodological development topicsSupporting the recruiting of new employeesDefining and tracking employee targets in line with company and divisional objectivesConducting staff appraisalsDefining and planning training measures for employees in line with requirementsOrganizing the regular transfer of expertise within the team and beyondForward-looking planning and management of the team's capacities for implementing product and technology roadmaps and customer requirements/projectsSelecting and managing external employees in projects (on-site and nearshore)Managing, monitoring and continuously improving the software development process, Control, monitoring and continuous improvement of the software development process in your own teamImplementation of and compliance with company-wide technology, quality, security and process standards and targetsCo-design of agile approaches in software developmentPrimary contact person for product management, support and other teamsBeing a contact person for customers, especially with regard to more in-depth technical topicsSupport in the pre-sales process to present and explain technical aspects of the software productsManagement of software development projects in the area of investment account management / tax and related topicsSupport in analysis and evaluation of requirements in the area of investment account management / transfer agency and support in solution designEnsuring the sustainable development and continuous maintenance of software products in the area of investment account management / taxContribution in day-to-day operationsSide tasks of the position:Participation in the implementation of division and company-wide initiatives for the strategic further development of processes, products and technologiesFormal Education:Degree in (business) informatics or a comparable, successfully completed technical education, alternatively relevant professional experienceMore than 10 years of professional experience at a software company or in a comparable positionSound professional experience in JAVA software developmentSound experience in managing and developing employees using relevant methodologiesQualifications/Skills/Personality Traits:Work experienceExperience in JAVA software development of multi-tier web applications and the relevant architecture concepts/technologies, preferably Java, Spring and Angular/React is a benefitExperience in leading software development teams with more than 5 employeesStrong communication skills, empathy and talent for leading employees in an appreciative mannerFamiliar with coaching and moderation as well as methodical and conceptual know-howProven organizational and planning skills, especially in an agile environmentSeveral years of experience in the development of software applications, services and functions for the financial industry.Experience in JAVA software development of multi-tier web applications and the relevant architecture concepts/technologies, preferably Java, Spring and Angular/React is a benefitVery good technological understanding of contemporary, distributed software architectures and container platform technologiesExperience with agile development methods such as SCRUMSeveral years of experience in the conception and development of software capabilities in the area of investment account management / taxProfessional expertise and other knowledge :Very good oral and written English skills as well as good German skills
