About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Hospital Safety and Disaster Risk Reduction Expert to strengthen hospital safety and disaster preparedness across selected healthcare facilities in Himachal Pradesh through comprehensive safety assessments, capacity-building, and the institutionalisation of safety protocols.Project Title: Rapid Visual Screening (RVS) and Safety Audit of 12 Hospitals (District Hospital of each of the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh).Specific Objectives:1. Assess the structural and non-structural safety of selected hospitals through standardizedmethodologies2. Develop contextualised, actionable Hospital Disaster Management Plans3. Build sustainable capacity among government officials to independently conduct hospital safetyassessments4. Enhance emergency preparedness through practical simulation exercises5. Strengthen psychosocial support capabilities for emergencies6. Promote a culture of safety across the healthcare systemKey ResponsibilitiesConduct a comprehensive Rapid Visual Screening of the 12 District Hospitals using standardised protocolsAssess structural safety, including foundation, load-bearing elements, roof systems, and overall structural integrityEvaluate non-structural elements, including architectural components, critical medical equipment, utilities, and lifeline systemsAssess functional aspects, including emergency access, evacuation routes, fire safety systems, and emergency power backupConduct geotechnical and site-specific hazard assessment where necessaryIdentify critical vulnerabilities and prioritise them based on risk levelsProvide detailed assessment reports for each facility with photographic documentationRecommend immediate, short-term, and long-term mitigation measuresEssential Qualifications & ExperienceMaster's degree in Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Engineering (B.
