Work you’ll do

The primary role of a Senior Consultant/Manager is to make immediate, direct contributions to enhancing our clients’ competitive position and performance in ways that are distinctive, innovative, and sustainable. Your day-to-day responsibilities will primarily include controllership activities such as financial accounting and reporting, statutory or regulatory reporting and managing processes related to financial close. You will be tasked with the preparation of accurate monthly financial reports and presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identification of action items, and effectively framing decisions that need to be made.

Key Responsibilities

Review, process, gather and compile accounting transactions and documents throughout the month for completeness, accuracy and compliance with general accounting principles and established internal control policies and procedures Ensure financial integrity and timely execution of monthly, quarterly and year end close processes Partner with stakeholders across divisions to improve financial and accounting accuracy Record and review journal entries related to Divisional branch results Review and investigate reconciliation variances, assist management in developing appropriate action plans to address issues identified Provide support for internal and external audits including control walkthroughs, documentation support and inquiry response Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally to meet strict project execution deadlines

Professional should have:

Good understanding of financial or public accounting Good working knowledge of accounting standards (US/UK GAAP/IFRS), account reconciliations, and month end close procedures Good working knowledge of statutory accounts, audit and preparation and consolidation of financial statements Experience in process simplification & transformation, lean methodology, controls, governance, exposure to audits and experience in functioning in a regulated process eco-system. Prior experience in dealing with Global teams and stakeholders Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint Proficient computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities Superior attention to detail while managing multiple competing priorities Good written and verbal communication skills and should be able to handle all client communications independently Proficient computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills Excellent planning and organizing skills, especially prioritizing multiple projects/tasks Proactively identifies workstream risks and issues; resolves or escalates to engagement/account leadership Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of key processes within a business function Demonstrated project discipline and experience Must be organized, focused, and driven to meet established deliverable deadlines Assumes responsibility for own work or workstream meeting engagement/project objectives and Deloitte quality standards

Qualifications & Experience

Chartered Accountants will be preferred CA Intermediate qualified are also eligible for the role 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in statutory reporting, controllership activities and financial accounting and reporting

Location

Any city in India (Strong preference for Pune and Bangalore)

Shift Timings

Open to working in US and/or UK shifts

Other Skills/Preferences

Good understanding of insurance brokerage business Valid Indian Passport with at least one year remaining before expiry Candidates with existing US Visa and/or UK Visa will be preferred (at least one year remaining) Willingness to travel for short and long term durations as per the requirement(s) Good working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements Leadership skills and ability to work with multiple teams Ability to forge meaningful and well-established relationships with multiple stakeholders Must be able to work with the onshore team to understand and transition various processes Must possess analytical skills to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate information and an ability to solve complex business problems Must be able to identify and resolve issues/risks in a dynamic work-environment
