Location

: Bengaluru, India (Remote)We are currently seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer proficient in React and TypeScript. In this role, you will take the lead in developing new features, prototypes, and innovative product ideas that capitalize on upcoming technologies and use cases. If you're a passionate engineer with expertise in React, and enjoy collaborating with product partners and cross-functional teams, we would love to have a conversation with you.

Responsibilities:Collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to build and maintain the user experience, accessibility, and development feasibility of the website, applications, and supporting digital spaces.Convert wireframes to hi-fi interactive prototypes for review and user testingRecommend and implement innovative solutions for the presentation of data and content on our websites, mobile apps, and other platforms.Adhere to JoVE’s brand standards and convey it cohesively across the website, supporting digital spaces and third-party platforms.Contribute towards engineering excellence in areas like automated unit testing.Collaborate with key stakeholders on project design and implementation and other developers to maintain standards and create a reusable codebaseExplain and whiteboard complex technical issues to audiences with varying levels of technical expertiseDebug software components and identify code defects for remediation.Assist in automating deployments to development and other environments.

Requirements:3+ years of experience with frontend technologies (React, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS)Highly proficient with JavaScript and its modern ES6+ syntax and featuresStrong experience with both consuming and designing RESTful APIsAdvanced skills in HTML5 and CSS3 (i.e., Flexbox/CSS Grid, Templating engines, CSS preprocessing)Familiarity with automated JavaScript testing, specifically testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.Experience with working with Tailwind CSS is a plus.Proficiency with modern development tools, like Babel, Webpack, and GitHands-on experience designing and developing scalable, high-performing, and fault-tolerant applications for large enterprisesDemonstrated understanding and implementation of software design principles such as SOLID and DRY with Software as a Service (SaaS), multi-tenancy application developmentEmbraces the concepts of Agile Scrum software development and its related collaboration and issue-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Rally)Experience working in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CICD) model, including GitHub and CI pipeline automation toolsAbility to triage and resolve incidents and lead incident investigations.Knowledge of PHP (Laravel, Symfony, etc.) is a plus.
