We are seeking an experiencedSenior US Mortgage Underwriterto join our team. The role involves independently reviewing, analyzing, and validating mortgage applications while ensuring compliance with established guidelines and policies. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of US mortgage processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailedLoan Applicationreviews to assess borrower eligibility and risk. PerformAUS Review(Automated Underwriting System) to validate accuracy and compliance. AnalyzeCredit Reports, Credit Supplements, and Liabilitydocumentation. Carry outRatio Calculations(DTI, LTV, HCLTV) to assess borrower affordability. VerifyEmploymenthistory and perform thoroughIncome Calculationsincluding salary, self-employment, and other income sources. ReviewTitle Verification, Appraisal, Insurance, and Tax Certificatesfor accuracy and completeness. Assess borrower’sNet WorthincludingBank Statements, Retirement Accounts, and Mutual Funds . Ensure compliance withGuideline Analysisand assessReserve Requirements . Identify risks, escalate exceptions, and provide final underwriting decisions. Maintain high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to SLA/TAT. Desired Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 4–8 years of proven US mortgage underwriting experience with strong credit risk assessment background. In-depth knowledge ofFannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA guidelines . Strong proficiency inAUS systems, mortgage software, and MS Office tools . Excellent analytical, decision-making, and documentation skills. Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex decisions to internal stakeholders. Flexibility to work night shifts / 24x7 environment as per business requirements. Key Competencies Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage high-volume underwriting in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative team player with mentoring and leadership potential.
