Description

:We are seeking a versatile professional to fulfill the role of Oracle Database Administrator and Data Engineering across several data stores, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing our oracle databases, automating, and designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include improving the reliability and performance of Nextgen applications as well as increasing organizational throughput through automation improvements as we scale to handle new customers and faster feature development.

Maintain the Oracle database server on AWS EC2 with Oracle 19c including, but not limited to, the following activities.

Design and implement measurement systems to assess service delivery and key performance indicators of critical applications. Plan, design, and implement capacity planning for future growth. Design and implement complex data models, Review database design and code written by other database and software engineers for performance and reliability. Good experience with Oracle Dataguard and monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise management, Datadog, and Sumologic Perform Database patching, security, upgrade, tuning, ASM disk group, adding and deletion of disk, and implementing new features. Manage databases not limited to only Oracle but also Redshift, Document DB, and MySQL on managed services in AWS. Develop, manage, and test database security, encryption, backup, storage, archiving, and recovery procedures. Build new database tools and scripts and work to continually improve and automate all processes-including DB installation, maintenance, backup, replication, restore, and monitoring Jobs. Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options), and query tuning. Creating and maintaining Indexes, database shrinking, memory settings, monitoring, OS, CPU usage, Disk I/O activity, etc. Perform disaster recovery activities, such as database backups before application updates, service packs, hotfixes, and upgrades, etc. Comply with Compliance, Audit, and Change Management policies and procedures. Troubleshoot transaction replication, clustering & mirroring issues. Perform other duties as assigned to maintain department, company, and client functions. Maintain appropriate documentation/playbooks and communication regarding all activities following applicable IT and corporate policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications: Experience: 8 – 10 Years

Minimum 4 years of Oracle databases and should have performed the role of Senior DBA Minimum 4 years of experience and knowledge of database server systems (such as Oracle), database management (such as performance monitoring and improvement), database maintenance (such as disaster recovery), and database-related automated process development preferably in a healthcare-related environment Minimum 2 years of experience in automation that involves Databases in areas like Python, Shell scripting, etc. Minimum experience of at least 1 year with other database systems such as RedShift, MongoDB, MySQL, and likewise as the role is not just limited to Oracle. Deep technical knowledge/experience in HA/DR solutions Practical experience troubleshooting performance problems, query tuning, and optimization. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees and vendors Good communication skills (both oral and written) and demonstrated ability to work as a team player.

  Desired Qualifications:

Experience in AWS AWS RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EC2, Aurora, Athena. Professional level of knowledge of Information Technology techniques as acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field and/or equivalent experience with certifications. Experience in working in CI/CD or similar pipeline (e.g., Jenkins, CodeBuild)
