Navam Capital is an India-based frontier technology and deep technology focused venture capital firm, investing in intellectual property-powered ventures in new age industries such as aerospace, climate tech, advanced materials, industrial automation, robotics, biotech, artificial intelligence and electric mobility.We are seeking a dynamic and capable professional to join our firm as Investment Analyst.The ideal candidate will possess a strong research, analytical and communication skills. Prior experience of working in investment research or product management, within the financial services industry or in operating businesses, is preferred.The role will offer broad-based exposure to a broad range of activities undertaken by venture capital firms – from thesis development, sourcing, due diligence, transaction management and deal execution, and portfolio management to investor relations, fund operations, accounting, reporting and compliance functions.Location: Kolkata, IndiaResponsibilitiesDeal Sourcing and Screening:Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and startups in the deep tech space.Source potential investment opportunities through various channels, including networking events, conferences, online platforms, and referrals.Screen and evaluate inbound deal flow, assessing the viability, scalability, and market potential of prospective investments, supporting the firm’s Partners in the research, analysis and techno-commercial evaluation process.Due Diligence and Investment Analysis:Support the Partners in due diligence on potential investment targets, including market analysis, technology assessment, competitive landscape analysis, and financial modelling, where applicable.Evaluate business models, product and service offerings, intellectual property, and technical capabilities of target companies.Draft investment memos, reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.Industry Research and Thought Leadership:Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and market trends relevant to deep tech sectors such as climate tech, aerospace, mobility, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics and industrial automation.Assist the Partners in research, editing and drafting, and contribute to producing essays, articles, research reports, whitepapers, and blog posts.Attend industry events, conferences, and workshops to expand networks and deepen expertise in deep tech domains, as necessary.Portfolio Management Support:Support the management of the existing portfolio of portfolio investments, monitoring key performance metrics, milestones, and relevant market trends.Prepare deliverables and reports for regulatory and reporting requirements, tracking progress against business plans and strategic objectives.Operations and Compliance Support:Coordinate with external service providers, consultants and legal advisors to fulfil compliance and other operations tasks.Assist in portfolio valuation exercises, financial analysis, and reporting.Qualifications & RequirementsOutstanding writing, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to distil industry, business and technical information into clear and concise writeups, reports, and presentations.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in market research, financial analysis, valuation techniques, and market research – as evidenced by prior writing samples and presentations.Ability to read rapidly and assimilate materials from diverse sources, including scientific papers.Ability to learn swiftly and deep curiosity towards frontier tech sectors and emerging technologies, with a demonstrated passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.Self-driven, proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of work.Bachelor's degree in technical discipline, such as natural sciences, engineering, computer science, or a related field;

advanced degree (e.G., MTech or MS) preferred.Prior experience of 2-3 years in conducting industry and company level research and diligence;
