Job Summary:

A creative and visionary Head of Design and Innovation to lead our design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in jewellery design and product development, with specialties in design thinking, structuring design teams and processes for optimal collaboration, leading innovation, and fostering a culture of learning. The Head of Design and Innovation will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process, from concept to final product, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand and customer preferences while driving forward-thinking and trendsetting design strategies.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Design Leadership:

  - Lead and manage the design team, fostering creativity and collaboration.

  - Develop and implement design strategies that align with the company’s brand and market positioning.

  - Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate them into the design process.


2. Innovation and Creativity:

  - Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the design team.

  - Encourage the exploration of new materials, techniques, and technologies in design.

  - Drive continuous improvement in the design process and outputs.


3. Design Development:

  - Oversee the creation of design concepts, sketches, and prototypes.

  - Ensure all designs meet the highest standards of quality, innovation, and market appeal.

  - Review and approve final designs before production.


4. Collaboration and Communication:

  - Work closely with marketing, sales, and production teams to ensure design feasibility and market readiness.

  - Communicate design concepts and strategies to senior management and other stakeholders.

  - Facilitate effective communication between the design team and other departments.


5. Market Research and Trend Analysis:

  - Conduct regular market research to identify customer preferences, industry trends, and competitor activities.

  - Analyze market data to inform design decisions and strategy.

  - Use insights from market research to develop new product lines and collections.


6. Quality Assurance:

  - Ensure all designs adhere to the company’s quality standards and brand guidelines.

  - Implement and maintain a rigorous quality control process for all design outputs.

  - Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.


7. Project Management:

  - Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of all projects.

  - Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

  - Track project progress and report on key milestones and deliverables.


 

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Jewellery Design, Fine Arts, or a related field preferably from NIFT.

- Proven experience of 8+ years in jewellery design and product development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

- Strong portfolio showcasing innovative and market-ready jewellery designs.

- In-depth knowledge of design software such as CAD, 3D printing,Rhino,Adobe Illustrator, and other relevant tools.

- Excellent understanding of market trends, customer preferences, and the jewellery industry.

This role is critical in ensuring that Nine Jewellery remains at the forefront of design excellence and innovation, creating products that resonate with our customers and stand out in the market. The Head of Design and Innovation will play a pivotal role in driving the creative vision of the company and achieving our strategic goals.
