Integrate third-party APIs and services, including payment gateways , shipping providers , and marketing platforms .
Create customized checkout flows and optimize customer journeys.
Implement responsive design practices to ensure eCommerce sites function well on all devices.
Ensure website performance, security, and scalability by optimizing code, leveraging CDN , and other techniques.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as UI/UX designers, backend developers, and project managers.
Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to maintain platform stability.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and features in the BigCommerce ecosystem.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a BigCommerce developer or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of BigCommerce Stencil framework and Blueprint themes.
Proficiency in JavaScript , HTML5 , CSS3 , and modern front-end frameworks (React.js or Vue.js preferred).
Experience with BigCommerce APIs (GraphQL, REST) and Webhooks for custom integrations.
Familiarity with BigCommerce App development (private/public apps).
Knowledge of BigCommerce Storefront API for headless commerce implementations.
Expertise in customizing BigCommerce themes using the Stencil CLI and Handlebars.js templating engine.
Strong understanding of eCommerce best practices , conversion optimization , and UX principles .
Familiarity with payment gateways , tax systems , and shipping integration .
Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Understanding of SEO principles and how to optimize eCommerce sites for search engine rankings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with headless commerce architecture using BigCommerce APIs.
Experience integrating third-party services such as CRMs, marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Klaviyo), and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager).
Knowledge of other eCommerce platforms like Shopify or Magento is a plus.
Experience with AWS or other cloud services for deployment and scalability.
Understanding of data security and PCI compliance in eCommerce.
Basic understanding of backend technologies like Node.js for full-stack development.
