Roles & Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer – Projects, he/she will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of various projects within the casting industry. This role requires proper attention to detail, strong team management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. From project planning to execution, cost estimation to quality control, the Senior Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring project success while adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and constraints.
project management tools ( e.g., MS Project) to create and maintain project schedules (Gantt chart), look-ahead schedules, and track progress reports.
technical drawings and models to identify Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates.
purchase requisitions for project materials, services, and machinery.
daily meetings with engineers, supervisors, and contractors for project updates.
and manage project budgets, cash flow, and invoicing plans.
Extra Work Claims, Variation Orders, Change Orders, and Time Delay Extensions.
potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
closely with HR and department heads to allocate resources, new contractors, and manpower effectively.
manpower histograms and prepare S-curves.
new contractors, negotiate contracts and coordinate onboarding.
quality assurance processes and conduct regular quality checks.
key project bottlenecks, delays, and challenges and resolve them.
project progress against timelines and deliverables.
monthly project status presentations and reports for stakeholders.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
Experience:
experience in project planning and management within the aerospace industry.
in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly NetSuite, for managing project inventory, and material requirements.
in budget management, cost control, and financial analysis.
in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
to prepare Gantt chart , generate and analyze project status reports.
Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:
in managing projects related to machine installation, structure erection in casting industry or related fields.
understanding of engineering principles and ability to interpret technical drawings, plot plans, and structural drawings.
communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
to manage teams and contract manpower, motivate members, and make informed decisions.
quality control measures to ensure compliance with standards are fulfilled in project delivery.
in negotiation, onboarding, resource management and contractor performance evaluation.
in handling changing requirements and expertise at problem-solving.
