Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and frameworks like Adonis.js, Express.js, and Nest.js.
  • Architect and implement secure, high-performance backend systems using best practices and design patterns.
  • Lead the design and implementation of database schemas using MySQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and PostgreSQL.
  • Collaborate with the front-end team to ensure seamless integration between backend and frontend functionalities, leveraging frameworks such as Spring Cloud and JHipster.
  • Implement robust security measures to protect user data and application integrity.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability to ensure system reliability and maintainability.
  • Utilize cloud platforms like AWS, EC2 and GCP for deploying and managing applications, and use tools such as Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaaS).
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the founders and the founding team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the growth of the engineering department.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development and architecture.
  • In-depth proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript .
  • Extensive experience with designing and implementing scalable and performant backend architectures including Monoliths, SOA, Microservices, Modular Monolith, MVC, Multi-Tenant, and Domain-Driven Design.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex backend projects from conception to deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms , preferably AWS (including EC2 and related services), and GCP.
  • Mastery of database administration and optimization techniques for MySQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong experience with reverse proxy configurations using Nginx.
  • Familiarity with tools like Swagger, Postman, APM, Kibana, Sentry, and Uptime Bot for development, testing, and monitoring.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, or SaaS companies is a plus.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring and guiding backend developers.
