Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Marine Engineer with a strong IT background to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of IT software and tools specifically designed for the marine domain, as well as effectively managing related projects. This role requires a combination of marine engineering expertise and IT project management skills to drive innovation and efficiency in our operations.


Key Responsibilities:

IT Software Development:

  • Collaborate with the IT and engineering teams to design and develop software solutions tailored for marine applications.
  • Participate in coding, testing, debugging, and deploying marine-specific IT tools and software.
  • Ensure that all software solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Project Management:

  • Assist in planning, executing, and closing IT projects related to marine engineering.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to align project objectives and deliverables.

Technical Support and Maintenance:

  • Provide technical support for deployed marine IT systems and tools.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance of marine software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to marine IT applications.

Documentation and Training:

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and user manuals.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users and stakeholders to ensure effective utilization of marine IT tools.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in marine engineering and IT.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of marine operations.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing marine IT systems and processes.


Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering.

Experience/ certification in programming languages

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marine engineering with a focus on IT projects.

Proven experience in software development and IT project management.

Technical Skills:

Advanced understanding of programming languages.

Experience with marine-specific software and tools.

Strong understanding of software development methodologies and project management framework
